Your first flip

Pick one category, start with product you can afford to sit on, and learn the fees before you buy.

Read the steps
  1. Choose a niche you already know: a card set, a brand, a type of collectible.
  2. Track 10 recent sales per item before you buy anything.
  3. Run the numbers in the Flip Calculator. Skip anything under 20% ROI.
  4. Keep boxes sealed and receipts saved. Condition is price.
Trading cards

Sealed vs. singles

Sealed boxes are easier to store and sell. Singles can pay more but take grading and time.

Read the steps
  1. Hold sealed product from in-demand sets; supply only shrinks.
  2. Only rip packs when singles from the set sell for more than the box.
  3. Check grading costs and turnaround before sending cards in.
  4. Watch reprint announcements; they can drop prices fast.
Selling

Pick the right platform

Fees, payout speed and buyer trust differ. Match the platform to the item and how fast you need cash.

Read the steps
  1. Compare total fees on the same sale price, not the headline percentage.
  2. Use authentication marketplaces for high-value, high-fake-risk items.
  3. Sell locally or direct when fees eat most of the margin.
  4. Track every sale in one sheet so you know your real monthly profit.
